DIRTY GRILLS

During the pandemic, friends Jéssica Gonçalves and Mariel Maciel joined forces to form the rock duo Dirty Grills. With lyrics full of sarcasm, explosion, and revolt, they tackle topics such as abuse, toxic relationships, politics, and pressures from a patriarchal society. With Mariel's powerful drumming and Jéssica's gritty guitar and nonchalant vocals, Dirty Grills' sound is rooted in various rock genres such as punk, grunge, stoner, and garage.

In October of last year, Dirty Grills released their debut EP "Faz Teus Corre, Irmão" with the aim of shaking the foundations of the male-dominated rock scene and proving that girls can play. They've already performed 17 shows in Santa Catarina and São Paulo, and the connection they felt with their audience at their first show was unforgettable.

Despite their individual commitments to other bands such as CigarKills, Pétit Mort, Cosmic Void, and Ghost Bitch, Jéssica and Mariel are still going strong as Dirty Grills. They prefer to let their creative process flow naturally, rejecting any conventions or norms. The band's first music video, "I Can't Wait to Get Rid of My Own Company," showcases their raw and visceral energy, without any frills and completely do it yourself.
